Alliance for a Healthier Generation

The Alliance for a Healthier Generation, a joint initiative between the American Heart Association and the William J. Clinton Foundation, works nationally to create awareness and real solutions for the childhood obesity epidemic.The goal of the Alliance is to stop the nationwide increase in childhood obesity by 2015 and to empower kids nationwide to make healthy lifestyle choices.

American Public Health Association: Food and Nutrition Section

The American Public Health Association’s (APHA) Food and Nutrition Section has a long and rich history. The current membership is multidisciplinary and includes nutritionists, health behaviorists, physicians, food technologists, epidemiologists, health professionals, educators, and researchers interested in nutrition and policy issues.

California Adolescent Nutrition and Fitness Program (CANFit)

Since 1993, CANFit has been at the heart of the movement to improve healthy eating and physical activity environments for adolescents. From grassroots to government, CANfit works with community-based and youth-serving organizations to identify local solutions and support the development of culturally competent policy and practices.

California Professional Nutrition Education and Training: CAL-PRO-NET

The Cal-Pro-NET Center serves as a statewide resource for the operation and management of School Lunch, School Breakfast, Summer Feeding, and Child and Adult Care Food Programs. Our goal is to assist child nutrition personnel in obtaining information and educational resources to run a successful program.

Dairy Council of California

Dairy Council of California is a nonprofit organization that offers low and no cost nutrition education materials to teachers and health care providers. Dairy Council provides nutrition programs for all grade levels and nutrition education brochures for health care providers, as well as interactive tools, informative articles, and downloadable handouts.

Food Stamp Nutrition Education Program (FSNEP)

The California Food Stamp Nutrition Education Program (FSNEP) operates through a joint agreement among the U.S. Department of Agriculture/Food & Consumer Services (USDA/FCS), the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Food Stamp Bureau, and the University of California Cooperation Extension (UCCE). CDSS is the agency responsible for administration of the Food Stamp Program in California.
